Brenda Walsh, well-known for her roles on 3ABN, particularly as the host of Kids Time, shares an amazing story of triumph in her new book Battered to Blessed.
As a busy nursing student and “Miss Kentucky” beauty contestant, Brenda, at age 18, had a promising future. Then one night Brenda met a tall, handsome stranger. What she didn’t know was that her bright future was about to take a dark and terrifying turn.
In shock and shame, Brenda found herself entangled in a web of deception and cruelty—trapped in a marriage to a man she hardly knew. Her husband’s rage and escalating violence threatened not only own her life, but the safety of her baby. In the pit of despair, from which there seemed no escape, Brenda cried out to God.
With the help of author Kay Rizzo, Brenda Walsh tells her powerful and gripping story in Battered to Blessed. It is her journey from pain to peace. Known to thousands of 3ABN viewers as “Miss Brenda,” the smiling children’s program host remembers a time when smiling wasn’t easy.
As a busy nursing student and “Miss Kentucky” beauty contestant, Brenda, at age 18, had a promising future of success, love, and happiness. But soon Brenda found herself at the mercy of a deceptive, cruel, and out-of-control man – threatening her very life.
Brenda Walsh, with the help of gifted author Kay D. Rizzo, makes her gripping and powerful story come to life. Battered to Blessed is Brenda’s amazing journey from pain to peace and to loving again, trusting again, and living a whole new life of incredible joy in Jesus!
Brenda is the Producer and Host of a children’s program on Three Angels Broadcasting Network, called “Kids Time,” and has worked in children’s ministries all her life in various capacities. She has been a frequent guest on "3ABN Today program", cooking with her sisters and travels to various churches and communities demonstrating Vegan Vegetarian Cooking. She is a dynamic speaker giving a message of encouragement, direction and hope to those who truly want to be used by God. She has traveled around the US and internationally giving inspiration to people of all ages.
She sings with her sisters on 3ABN (www.3abn.org) and has four gospel CD’s out entitled “The Micheff Sisters Family Favorites,” “Leaning on Jesus,” “Hymns from the Heart,” and " Songs of Hope." They have just released their first music video "Walking With Jesus." She along with her sisters has written three vegan vegetarian cookbooks called, “Cooking with the Micheff Sisters,” and “Cooking EntrĂ©e’s with the Micheff Sisters,” and their newest release, "Cooking for Two." She has also authored a book based on her personal experience of domestic violence, “Battered to Blessed,” as well as a book on Hurricane Katrina that she co-authored with Dr. Kay Kuzma, “Between Hell and High Water.” Her book, " Passionate Prayer" features her own personal stories of answered prayer and talks about the importance of a passionate prayer life with our Heavenly Father. She has a new book out she has co-authored with Kay Kuzma "Passionate Prayer Promises." It is a promise book that has over 100 different topics and each topic has a prayer for that particular need along with many additional scripture and promises to claim.
She is a Registered Nurse, Interior Decorator, and Floral Designer. Her hobbies include; playing the piano, oil painting, collecting dolls and thimbles and of course cooking!
Brenda is married to Tim Walsh and lives in Knoxville, TN. She has two grown daughters, Becky and Linda, and is the proud grandmother of Michael James and Jason Patrick.
